This novel describes the solving of a murder case at the Yoshida-Sanso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Caf\u00e9 Shinkoka is a small Western-style house but without the Western gleam. Yoshida is located between the Higashiyama mountain range and the Kamo River. Yoshida-Sanso stands at the foot of the eastern side of Mt. Yoshida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"585\" src=\"https:\/\/careerchange-diary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cafe-Shinkokan-20221129_02.webp\" alt=\"This photo shows Yoshida Sanso. Yoshida Sanso is a two-story elegant Japanese-style house. King Kunihide Higashi-Fushimi, the brother-in-law of Emperor Showa, attended Kyoto University from this residence. In 1947, after World War II, the Higashifushimi family withdrew from the imperial family by order of GHQ. Therefore, this residence became a ryokan (Japanese-style inn) in 1948. The home and garden remain as they were at that time. This residence has been certified as a registered tangible cultural property of Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"i-1\"> Karamon gate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The entrance was an imposing Karamon gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"585\" src=\"https:\/\/careerchange-diary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cafe-Shinkokan-20221129_14.webp\" alt=\"This photo shows the Karamon gate at the entrance of Yoshida Sanso. The roof tiles were decorated with the \u201cchrysanthemum crest\u201d associated with the imperial family. The round stained glass pattern on the left side of the entrance, shown in the photo, was based on the pattern on the back of a copper mirror excavated from an ancient burial mound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"i-3\">Caf\u00e9 Shinkokan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After passing a Japanese-style house and climbing a hill, I found a hut-like building. This was Caf\u00e9 Shinkokan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"585\" src=\"https:\/\/careerchange-diary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cafe-Shinkokan-20221129_12.webp\" alt=\"This photo shows Caf\u00e9 Shinkokan. This novel is set in Caf\u00e9 Shinkokan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"585\" src=\"https:\/\/careerchange-diary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cafe-Shinkokan-20221129_01.webp\" alt=\"This photo shows a novel titled &quot;Mysterious Tea Party: Holmes of Kyoto: Volume 4,&quot; by Mai Mochizuki, displayed in Caf\u00e9 Shinkokan. He admits that Caf\u00e9 Shinkokan is \u201cone of the top five cafes in Kyoto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>It\u2019s a lovely little Western-style house that looks like a hideout, maintaining the exterior built as a residence of a palace family. It is one of my top five recommended cafes.<\/p><cite>Mai Mochizuki, \u201cMysterious Tea Party: Holmes of Kyoto: Volume 4,\u201d Futaba Bunko, 2016, p. 93.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"i-5\">Inside the cafe<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When I entered the cafe, there was a wooden staircase on the left. The cafe space was on the second floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"585\" src=\"https:\/\/careerchange-diary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cafe-Shinkokan-20221129_06.webp\" alt=\"This photo shows a room on the second floor of Caf\u00e9 Shinkokan. There were no other customers. The wooden floor was shiny black, and antique wooden tables lined the floor. From the window on the east side, I could see the character \u201c\u5927\u201d (large) on Nyoigatake (Mt. Nyoigatake). Hiei, and from the south window, I could see the view of the city of Kyoto. Suddenly, a waiter appeared from the employee-only staircase. The stairway was in a hidden place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"i-6\">Caf\u00e9 Shinkokan\u2019s trademark<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The bat is the trademark of Caf\u00e9 Shinkokan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"585\" src=\"https:\/\/careerchange-diary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Cafe-Shinkokan-20221129_08.webp\" alt=\"This illustration is of a bat, the trademark ofCaf\u00e9 Shinkokan. For this reason, the bat was a lucky charm in ancient China to bring good fortune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"i-7\">Chocolate Cake<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I ordered the chocolate cake set. Yes, this view of the capital is the brocade of spring.<\/p><cite>Sosei Houshi \u201cKokin Waka Shu,\u201d No.56<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This poem is about spring in Kyoto from the Kokin Waka Shu. The Kokin Waka Shu is an anthology of waka poems published around 905. The Emperor of Japan ordered the collection to be compiled by selecting waka poems from ancient times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had a quiet and serene time.
